Samoan Olympian Marion Faustino Ah Tong has set his eyes on veteran Abhay ‘the Tiger’ Chand.

The two face off in a super welterweight category bout during the Lewis Hill Boxing Promotion in Suva this Saturday.

Ah Tong beat Fijian Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana in November last year, which was the Samoan’s debut in the professional era.

In contrast, Chand has 48 professional bouts under his name winning 24, 16 by knockout, he has lost 19 times while five bouts ended in a draw.

Ah Tong said he had come prepared and would give his best shot to beat Chand.

“My ultimate goal is to win my second bout. I respect my opponent, I know he is far more experienced than I am but I will give in all I have,” he said.

The 22-year-old, who represented Samoa at the 2020 Olympics, is expected to give veteran Chand a good hit-out when they fit the canvas on Saturday.

The promotion will start at 2pm at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva with the amateur bouts while the professional bouts begin at 6pm.

Isikeli ‘Bullet’ Senidoko will take on Joseph Kwadjo in the main bout in the cruiserweight category.
