The Fijian Elections Office will be conducting another round of voter registration overseas next month.

This, according to Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem during a news conference in Suva yesterday.

“We will be doing another round of voter registration to the following countries- Australia, New Zealand, United States of America and Canada,” he said.

“We will also be going to the European region and details of that will be announced at a later date.

“We are yet to finalise all our arrangements and all those locations as you would understand there were lot of complications brought about by COVID, flights etcetera.

“We have already finished one round of registration in Australia and New Zealand and so far, we have covered many locations in these countries, and we have managed to provide services to up to 1500 Fijians in these areas.

Mr Saneem said they would travel to Australia between 9 to 18 July to conduct voter registration.

“In Australia, we will be going from the 9th of July till the 18th of July, eight venues in Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, New South Wales and Queensland.

“In New Zealand, we’re going on 8th July and coming back 18th of July.

“We’re looking at confirming all the venues but we will be going out to Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland as well. He said two venues have been confirmed in the US.

“We will be going on July 8 and return on July 14.

“These venues are currently confirmed for California and we will be updating our venues once we have more responses from the communities. “We are also going to Surrey in Canada on July 16 for two days.”
