Suva’s Jai Narayan College is confident of a good outing at this year’s Suva Zone Two after the completion of its inter-house at its school yesterday.
The school’s head of sports Dan Vakamoce said the school aimed to select the best available athletes for the upcoming zone.
“It has been wonderful as the students took a day break and occupied themselves with something different to what they experience every day inside their classrooms.
The former Marist Brothers High School head of sports said the team was looking forward to the zonal meet.
“We go in as underdogs. We know that anything is possible. After the inter-house competition, we will go back and check the times and distances and list out athletes who can represent us at the zone,” he added.
He said winning a medal would be a bonus but giving their all-in participation was what mattered for the school.
“For us, it’s all about participating and winning a medal at the zone or the Cokes will be a bonus for us. We do things slowly and according to what our admin wants.”
The theme for this year’s inter-house was “building a healthy community partnership policy”.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Suva Zone Two will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on April 14.
